Coaches and Athletes

Larry Brown,  Head Basketball Coach, retired

The well traveled Coach Brown found success at nearly every stop along the way.  He led the University of Kansas and Detroit Pistons to Championships.

* Sue Enquist, Former UCLA Head Softball Coach

Enquist holds more National Championships (11) than anyone in the history of softball. She is UCLA Softball’s first All-American, National Champion, and Hall of Famer. She is a speaker and consultant.

Gail Goestenkors, Former Women’s Basketball Coach, University of Texas, Duke

As head women’s basketball coach at Duke for 15 seasons, Goestenkors led the Blue Devils to four Final 4s and won 7 ACC Coach of the Year honors. Goestenkors served as the University of Texas coach from 2008- 2012.

Eric Heiden, M.D.

Considered one of the greatest speed skaters in Olympic history, Eric Heiden won a record five gold medals in the 1980 Olympics.  He is an Orthopedic Surgeon based on Salt Lake City, UT and has served as team physician for NBA, WNBA and U.S. Speed Skating teams.

Lou Holtz, Head Football Coach, retired

Coach Lou Holtz is known as one of the great turn around specialist in college football history.  He pumped new life into down teams such as North Carolina State, Minnesota, Arkansas and South Carolina.  He is best remembered for leading Notre Dame to the 1988 national title.  He is the author of 5 books including “Winning Every Day.”

Billie Jean King, President, World Team Tennis

One of the legends in women’s tennis, Billie Jean King won 67 singles titles and 12 Grand Slam Titles.  She started the Women’s Sports Foundation and is currently president of World Team Tennis.

Marv Levy, Former Head Football Coach and GM, Buffalo Bills

 After leading the Buffalo Bills to 4 consecutive Super Bowls, Levy came out of retirement to become the team’s General Manager.   Levy’s 143 career victories are 11th on the all time best NFL coaches list.

Terry Liskevych, Olympic, NCAA Volleyball Coach

David Marsh, US Olympic Swim Coach – Team Elite 

After leading the Auburn University Swim program for 17 years where his teams won 12 national titles and 40 individual titles, David Marsh spent a decade in Charlotte, North Carolina where he trained Olympians.  He is now doing the same with Team Elite based in San Diego.
